ABOUT

Louise Richardson specialises in upholstery and furniture restoration. With a BA hons fine art degree and a traditional training in upholstery, Louise's design knowledge combined with an eye for detail and hand skills come together to create beautiful work. These skills have enabled her to work with a broad range of furniture, from antique restoration to modern prototypes for designers, from 20th century design classics to soft furnishings and artist's sculptures.

Having worked in the furniture industry since 2007 Louise has acquired specialist skills and an attention to detail that can only be acquired through time and experience.

As well as upholstery, Louise is also part founder of Aellson, a creative platform set up by herself and Linda Petersson, a fellow upholsterer and crafts person.  Please explore their work here at Aellson.

You can find Louise in her workshop in Brighton or teaching upholstery at The School of Art, Architecture and Design, London Metropolitan University in London. Louise believes it is essential to pass on the knowledge and skills of these traditional trades.
